Guyyyys life has been totally running away with me at the moment. If it isn’t work, it’s a drama performance, if it isn’t those, it’s booking a holiday for myself and nine friends – it’s all beyond a little manic and I’m afraid to say my blog has been somewhat neglected.
However, today I have a little lifestyle post for you all about what I got up to after work a few weeks ago (wow, what a hook – have I reeled you all in yet??)
Does anyone else get masses of emails that you instantly delete? You scroll through your inbox day after day sending plenty of them to your junk box, until your eyes fall upon the one email that makes it all worth it – an event invitation!
Not just any event invitation – an event invitation to Crabtree & Evelyn’s Handy Tips Handed Down evening, where we celebrate women and all the clever beauty tips our family members have taught us over the years.
So, all RSVP’d and ready to mingle, I headed into town to meet with Hannah of Pinafores and Pies before making our way to Queen Street in Oxford.
We were greeted with Bucks Fizz (the perfect cure for a stressful day at work, non?) and saw the familiar faces of fellow Oxford-based bloggers we had previously met at #OxMeet back in March. Could there be a more perfect setting for a good ol’ blogger catch up?
We ate, we drank, we had hand massages and manicures, took photos, had photos taken, perused the shelves of all the prettily-packaged wares and shared our top beauty tips passed down from the matriarchs of our families. All in all, a lovely way to spend an evening.
As you may have read in THIIIIIS post, Hannah and I had committed to a monthly burger sesh (Burger Thursdays yo, it’s totally a thing), and decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to catch up. Having met up with Hatty and Rachel at the event, and having not seen them since #OxMeet, we invited them along and ordered up a whole lotta food whilst chat turned to all things blogging and marriage.
I, of course, opted for their Cheese & Bacon Burger with fries (which, by the way, were glorious!) By the time we were served I was so hungry I could have eaten anything, and whilst it was lovely, it’s no Byron Burger.
The burger seemed to lack any real flavour, but I would definitely go back to try out the rest of their menu – especially when your surroundings look like this:
